Our goal is to provide a quality camp experience for up to 70 children each summer and you can make a difference with your time. There are several staff positions that are needed each summer and while each is different in their specific role, all staff work together to achieve the goal of camp and must be able to do the following:
- Work with kids from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain a high level of energy, a positive attitude and an open mind
- Collaborate as a supportive team member
- Remain encouraging and positive when faced with challenging situations
- Know your limits and be able to ask for help
Counselors and CITs
Camp cannot happen without the commitment of these special people each session. We are always looking for more fabulous counselors/CITs to dedicate a week of their summer to a child in need. This role is critical to the camp experience and although it can be the most challenging, it is also the most rewarding. Counseling staff must monitor the safety and well-being of their campers on a day-to-day basis and participate in all activities with their camper. So, if you are at least 15 years old, are ready to work hard, have fun and make a difference in a child's life, apply for this role!
Do you have a hobby you'd like to teach others? Do you have a skill that a young child might enjoy learning? Then perhaps you'd like to be an activity teacher! While there are some activities at camp that are offered every year, such as swimming, arts & crafts, and archery, we are always looking to add new ones. If you can teach an activity in three 40 minute sessions, please consider applying to join our team.
We are also looking for new program performers to add to the camp experience, for evening and afternoon performances. Do you have a unique talent? Are you part of a performance group? Can you provide an engaging and interactive performance for a group of 35 kids, 35 counselors and a few other assorted adults? If so, please consider applying to entertain us.
You can apply to volunteer for one or both sessions of camp.
If you are applying to be a CIT or counselor, please complete the application and mail it to the PO Box on the application. The application will be available here on this page in January. Once your application is received, you will be contacted by our Camp Directors, John or Becky, to confirm it's been received. If you are a new applicant, they will set a time to meet with you for an informal in-person interview (or by telephone if distance is an issue). Once hired you will receive a Welcome email with additional information and forms.
Returning staff must also complete an application, but do not need to get references if you have attended camp recently.
Please note that all staff 18 and over must also get fingerprinted. LiveScan information will be provided to you in the Welcome email.
If you are applying to be a teacher or an evening performer, please contact us via this website.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or for more information.
We are always happy to help someone determine how they can be a part of our Camp Opportunity Team!
